Kenner's Star Wars packaging vendor LPK created this REVENGE of the Jedi Logo sheet in 1982 as part of the rollout for George Lucas' third film, before the director altered the film's title  just prior to its release. Lucas felt uncomfortable with the term Revenge, after deciding that it was at odds with the notion of what a Jedi Knight is.

If Lucas felt uncomfortable, the team at Kenner were borderline apoplectic since this change meant that their work to prepare a toy line based on the film was now in chaos.

They had already crated packaging for Toy Fair in February of 1983, and on the eve of this event they were forced to tear off labels pulled from sheets such as the one offer here, in favor of new ones created with the correct film title.

What followed was the destruction of all but a small handful of these Kenner logo sheets. The one offered here is crease free, and as mint as any of those that survived (all exhibit some discoloration in white areas).

This is a rare opportunity to own a true centerpiece for a vintage Revenge of the Jedi collection – especially for one that includes a run of Revenge proof cards. It offers real insight into Kenner's packaging creation process, and a look at the many uses for their Star Wars logos.

MOC Bossk is included only for scale, and not offered for sale.
