Star Wars Mailers & Multi-Packs

The 16 unique Kenner Star Wars Department Store three packs dominate the multi-pack landscape for most vintage Star Wars collectors. The appeal of their brightly colored package designs, and unique presentation of character groups, is complimented by their extremely rarity. Some are known to exist only in tiny numbers. During recent times Hasbro has released easily discernible reproduction versions of many, increasing interest and competition for the originals. Kenner released seven sets during Star Wars, and nine more during Empire Strikes Back. Return of the Jedi sets exist only in Kenner photography.  

The department store mailer pack segment of vintage Star Wars collecting is not quite as popular as the Department Store three packs, though a complete set presents no less of a challenge. A full set of the white or brown mailers numbers in the dozens of examples, all of which were sold by Sears, JC Penny, Aldens and Montgomery Ward between 1979 and 1985.
