Most collectors are familiar with the rarity of Kenner's Radio Controlled Jawa Sandcrawler, which was sold at retail between 1979 and 1980. Like the Sonic Controlled Land Speeder before it, the Jawa Sandcrawler was a relatively short run product, appearing in stores for less than 24 months in total. It has always been difficult for collectors to find in a sealed box.
Most remaining unopened Sandcrawlers trace back to the now legendary Lucasfilm Charity auction where the filmmakers warehouse was cleared of several cases of unopened toys.
Yet the Sandcrawler remains an exceptionally difficult item to find in collector grade (AFA 80) or better condition. This near mint example is far nicer than many other examples to receive the same grade, and would be a centerpiece for most any serious, sealed vintage Star Wars collection.
