Kenner included this pin with early promotional literature/packets for the Early Bird promotion, and other items in 1977. It's believed to also have been worn by employees, and given away at Toy Fair in 1978.
It's one of just a handful of non-toy, promotional items Kenner made during the Star Wars line.
