This original engineering blue print for the Nikto action figure staff was printed in November of 1982, primarily as a guide for the sculpting department to produce the accessory. It features different elevations to indicate density, detail and scale.
It would also have been given to the Star Wars tooling engineer and vendors, to cement details that were critical to ensuring it was an accurate replica of the weapon used in the film.
Few weapon blueprints for the vintage Star Wars line have survived.
The item offers a rare insight into the behind the scenes production of Kenner's vintage Star Wars toy line, and helps add color and a tangible understanding of a vital stage of toy creation.
