This alternate color limbs 1979 Taun Taun dated First Shot, originated from the collection of a former Kenner engineer charged with testing reliability and making changes to vintage Star Wars action figures and toys. It is unpainted, and was purchased from his collection by a reliable source in the very early 1990s.
The Taun Taun's limbs are a much darker grey than the production version, which is a feature that is consistent among all legitimate first shots of the creature.
One leg was removed as part of testing, but it holds tightly to the body which allows it to be displayed with no visible issue.
