Offered is this rare Kenner pencil artwork for the 1984 Power of the Force Playdoh set, which represents a conversation between the toy company and it's graphic design firm (LPK) during the vintage Star Wars era.
This design is highly refined, and close to the final layout used for the playset. It was drawn on thin paper, that was mounted to a piece of 13" X 13" foam core board for presentation.
It includes original notes from a Kenner employee asking the vendor to switch the image of Luke to the right hand side of the package, and to haze the area around him.
Packaging artwork of any kind for Kenner's vintage Star Wars line is exceptionally rare, particularly ones such as this that give a strong indication of the free hand drawing talents of Jeff Rice, who was the principal artist on the Star Wars packaging design team.
